Creating Impact

One day at a time

We have a lot of friends in the nonprofit world.  The common problem we hear is that they could do so much more if they had the resources to do so.  Talented individuals willing to help further their cause are always in demand.
In the startup ecosystem, we talk to many folks that want to help.  Yet they don’t know how to identify the right nonprofits to work with.  And with all the demands on their time, they can’t afford anything but a limited engagement.
How can we bridge this gap?
At {eid} we strongly believe that one day of work can create a lot of change.  The startup and nonprofit ecosystems are full of entrepreneurs that are trying to impact the world in positive ways.  By bringing these communities together and carefully matching concrete problems with proven skill sets, we think that impact can be amplified tremendously–one day is all it takes.  And into the future, the strengthened networks between these communities will create synergies for finding talent, fundraising, and community development furthering the progress of both for-profits and nonprofits.  And that is a win for us all.

How It Works

01 / Nonprofits

Identify nonprofits with great causes, that are impacting the LA area, and that could benefit from the help of some of the brightest minds in the startup community.

02 / Problem

Work with these nonprofits to identify problem areas. Turn these problems into projects that can be attacked in a single day.

03 / Startups

Assemble crack squads of entrepreneurs from the startup ecosystem. Match these with the nonprofits based on expertise and experience to form project teams.

04 / Work

Bring the teams together for a day of expert speakers and moderated working sessions. Facilitate discussion towards a predefined deliverable.

05 / Community

Present the final solutions. Gather the larger community of startups and nonprofits together to celebrate and foster connections for the future.

  • “Entrepreneur Impact Day will enable us to tackle challenges in our non-profit through the expertise of local entrepreneurs, who tackle challenges on a daily basis in their businesses. We are excited to 'think outside the box' and explore creative solutions with their guidance...”

Estelle ReyesExecutive Director. Network For Teaching Entrepreneurship LA.
  • “We at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles are thrilled to hear that an event such as Entrepreneur Impact Day has been created. There is always a need in the nonprofit world - no matter the size of your organization – for outside, pro-bono support that brings together the best minds in the for-profit sector to help develop realistic, authentic solutions to our most pressing needs...”

Dawn WilcoxVP Corporate Sponsorships. Children's Hospital LA.
  • “It’s exciting to see threads of the hack-a-thon culture applied to the non-profit sector. Entrepreneur Impact Day is doing a masterful job of marshaling the community to shine light on those areas that NPOs need most.”

    Brent BushnellFounder. Two Bit Circus.
  • “Entrepreneur Impact Day provides nonprofits and entrepreneurs access to each other in a setting that allows them to roll up their sleeves, tackle a problem and provide lasting value. With the two worlds becoming more and more integrated it’s crucial for networking and speaking a common language.”
